We Are Pioneers in Kitchen and Bath design focusing on Access-Abilities in Steamboat Springs, CO
Access-Abilities has been created to help fill a void in Northwest Colorado between institutionalized Health Care and Home Care by helping people stay in their homes as long and as safely as possible. Access-Abilities provide in-home assessments for the mobility challenged and furnishes solutions for the removal of physical barriers. Assessments will be made by Northwest Colorado’s only CAPS designe, Richard Reed, (CKD, CAPS) with input from a medical provider and/or caregivers.
“CAPS” is the National Association of Home Builders’ designation for a Certified Aging in Place Specialist. The CAPS program was created, in conjunction with the AARP, to help seniors know they are working with a professional who has the expertise and skills necessary to help them make their home safer. Home modifications may be needed to reduce a person’s risk of falling or to increase their mobility and overall safety. Modifications also increase the efficiency and safety of the caregiver. Access-Abilities strives to make these modifications as seamless as possible, without giving the home an institutionalized feel.
Access –Abilities is the local dealer for many mobility and assistive products such as: code compliant access ramps; code compliant railings; grab bars; support poles; trapeze lifts; stair lifts; elevators; automatic door openers; and kitchen and bath modifications for safety and accessibility.
Access-Abilities is here to assist you with your efforts to maintain your quality of life in your own home. We are licensed and insured and all of our work is guaranteed. Access-Abilities in conjunction with Cold Mountain Design is located at 625 S. Lincoln Ave. in Steamboat Springs CO.

Life is short and there will always be dirty dishes, so let’s dance.
"Richard, you are a gentleman and an artist. Thanks for all of your hard work and expertise! The result is out standing."
"Richard, we love the cabinets! I was really concerned that I may have gone too dark, but we love the contrast. The other thing that surprised me was how the loft being higher and not over the cabinets looks great. We have even thought about the high ceiling over the kitchen – it to looks great. I guess the lay person doesn’t have a clue. Anyway, we think the cabin is starting to have some personality with each new layer that goes in. It also is getting smaller with each new layer, but it is exactly the size we wanted."
"Richard, nice to finally meet you. Thanks for building our staircase and kitchen cabinets. We are enjoying them both. Please stop by when you can."
"David and I are very pleased with the new bookcases in the library. Thanks for your time and efforts in producing such a nice project for our home. I know that we will enjoy them for a long time. Now, we are anxious to put the finishing touches on that room, picking out the furniture and accessories will be much more difficult than the bookcases."
